Thanks but No Thanks
Stuart Pearce may well have been afforded the role of coach of the GB Olympic Football Team but it transpires he wasn`t the first choice.
According to reports surfacing in the press this morning, Lord Coe wanted our very own Sir Alex to undertake the role.
But Sir Alex wasn`t having nothing of it, instead confirming that he`ll still be on the United throne come the summer of 2012, commenting,
"I told Seb that if I wasn`t managing at the time, I might consider it."
"But I will be managing. I`m busy here at Manchester United."
Although it would have been interesting to see who Sir Alex would have picked to represent Great Britain!

Surprised Slur didn't take the opportunity to manage the Olympic squad. he's getting on a bit now, and this could be his last chance to manage a team of decent players.
