Suarez Retort

Suarez Retort

Following on from the sad revelations yesterday that indicated that there may have been some racial abuse spoken by one of the Liverpool contingent, on Saturday, the player concerned has, once again come out and declared his innocence.

Luis Suarez may have once of those faces you`d love to slam a door on but the Uruguayan international remains adamant that he never uttered a single racial word and has tweeted as such, remarking to his followers,

"I am upset by the accusations of racism. I can only say that I have always respected everybody. We are all the same."

"I go on to the field with the illusion of a little child who enjoys what he does, not to create conflicts."

Anyone else get the feeling this one could rumble on and on……………

Odds are he won't be proven guilty but whether that means he was genuinely innocent or just got away with it is another thing. Suarez's talk of respect is laughable though. Biting opponents, preventing a clear goal and knocking a country out of the World Cup by cheating and handballing the ball, diving, faking injury, sarcastically clapping at the ref, throwing strops and tantrums, encouraging the ref to send players off, all very respectful actions eh? In fairness to him though par the biting and handballing, pretty much every player in football is guilty of something on that list, it's rare though to be guilty of all of it.
