Welbeck`s Chance!

One mans bad fortune…………….

With UEFA having landed Wayne Rooney with a three game ban, has a wonderful opportunity opened up for Danny Welbeck?

Although their styles of play are different, there is a possibility that Fabio Capello, having used Danny Welbeck in a forward role for England, could turn to Welbeck to fill the position vacated by Rooney.

If so, you`d hope that Fabio will show some patience and will allow whoever he chooses the time to settle into the side before making a snap judgment.

Obviously, there is competition for Danny with Darren Bent, Daniel Sturridge, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Jermain Defoe all vying for the role.

But you just never know!

Did you not mention Andy Carroll in the list of competition on purpose? Wouldn't blame ya if you did :P For what Welbeck would add to the team out of the list of players mention I can't see why Capello wouldn't go for him. He's a real physical a presence but has great technical ability as well as a great attitude. Defoe and Bent are essentially the same type of player whilst both Sturridge and Agbonlahor seem to be distributed out wide for club level, perhaps they could target the RW role ahead of Walcott?
