Rooney Gets Ferguson Backing

With the world and his dog keen to heap scorn on Wayne Rooney following his red-card last Friday evening, Sir Alex Ferguson has sprung to his defence.

Sir Alex, who probably knows the player better than any other manager, isn`t fazed by the fiery temper that often lands Wayne in hot water, instead he sees it as a trait to admire, commenting,

"Obviously he`ll be disappointed."

"It was one of those reflex actions by the boy He`s been tackled and he`s reacted."

"He`s got the fiery temper which to my mind is not the worst thing in the world."

"He`s shown tremendous improvement in terms of his temperament, his reactions to tackles, over the last few years."


But he`s never quite eliminated that overwhelming desire to do the unexpected has he!

It's just typical Rooney to act out when he gets frustrated. He really has got to stop it as he's just making himself a scapegoat.
