United - An Omen?

United - An Omen?

Those Manchester United fans out there, who are a little worried about our start to our Champions League campaign, might like to take heart from the following statistic!

Apparently, United have failed to win either of their two opening group games on only one previous occasion.

That occasion being back in the 1998/1999 season when, yes you`ve guessed it, we won the trophy with that thrilling late comeback against Bayern Munich!

An omen perhaps!

I am not worried, surely United will progress as winner of the group, however I am disappointed they will now have to field a stronger team for the remaining games, hence not allowing our star players to rest up properly.

Not too worried either. I'm still expecting us to finish top of the group but I reckon we still won't play too many first team players.
