'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Young`s Challenge!

It is something we`ve touched on already this season, the wonderful start to his Manchester United career that Ashley Young has made.

Last night, I was reading a book of football quips and came across one whereby a former manager of Ashley`s admitted he was worried that a heavy shower would kill the skinny youngster.

It`s fair to say that Ashley has come on a lot since those early days and despite being a fledgling in the current side ahs already received a glowing accolade form Sir Alex Ferguson with the boss commenting,

"He has great awareness and fantastic endurance, which is something we have enjoyed with Ryan Giggs for many years."

As for Ashley himself, he`s, naturally, looking forward to continuing his development in the Champions League, remarking,

"I definitely want to challenge myself at the top level and being able to play in the big competition is every player`s dream."

But to make an impact is something to be remembered for!

Similarities to Ryan Giggs?! No pressure or anything Ashley. In fairness to the lad he has made a blistering start to his United career.

It seems opinions have certainly changed from those of a few months ago when you neither "needed nor wanted him", despite us Villa fans telling you he'd be a great signing. Good on you Ash!
