United - Golden Period?

Those two Champions League Final defeats, at the hands of Barcelona, eat away at Sir Alex Ferguson.

In an era whereby we`ve dominated, but still lost those two final, Sir Alex is reticent to declare this a golden period.

Ahead of the tie at Old Trafford tonight, Sir Alex, speaking about the Champions League and how highly he rates it, has commented,

"It`s not a golden period for us because we`ve lost two finals. We`ve been consistent in the Champions League and our away form has been outstanding."

"I hope we can do better this year and win it because that`s the aim of this club."

"The Champions League is the best competition in the world, better than the World Cup and European Championships."

Do you agree?

Would you prefer Champions League success to Premier League success?

It's the biggest and best competition in football today yeah but i'd sooner have Premier League success over Champions League success. You need to remember what it is that gets you into the Champions League rather than going the Liverpool route and prioritising Europe over the League.
