'If It's Football, It's Vital'

There`s Method in the Madness!

Is Sir Alex Ferguson simply being cagey or is he telling it as it is?

Ahead of our crucial clash with Chelsea this afternoon, Sir Alex has come out with a few comments that the media have latched onto.

The comments could be viewed as damning or they could be viewed as common sense.

See what you think,

"The game against Chelsea will be important and so will our game against City in October. But I`d rather lose then both and win every other game and win the league."

"At the end of the day all you want to do is win the league. No matter how you get there in terms of who you drop points to or win points form. It`s just about getting there - not how you do it. It may that this game against Chelsea could be crucial. But when you look back to last season one of the most significant games was when we lost at Wolves."

"Until then the focus tended to be centred more on not losing rather than going out to win the game."

"But that defeat got us back on track and started to focus us again on winning."

Okay, I`m convinced! But losing to City now that would be a bitter pill to swallow!

I'd take losses to City and Chelsea if it meant winning the league by beating the smaller teams any day of the week.

"Until then the focus tended to be centred more on not losing rather than going out to win the game." LMFAO! Was this not what Mancini was pilloried for last season? I recall a number of pundits saying Fergie would never adopt that attitude.
