Cleverley Out for Three Weeks

Our good start to the season has suffered a slight hiccup!

Tom Cleverley, who has been instrumental in our bright start to the campaign, fell victim to a savage tackle from the Bolton striker, Kevin Davies that saw him limp off early in the first half.

Thankfully, the injury is not as bad as first feared and has been diagnosed as being a bad sprain which is likely to keep young Tom on the sidelines for three weeks.

Speaking about the incident, Sir Alex Ferguson had this to say,

"It was unfortunate but we expected it. It was a bad tackle."

I`ll not disagree with that and perhaps there is an indication of a hint of guilt from Davies himself who is rumored to have offered an apology!

It's a shame really, his been great since coming back from Wigan. The frustrating part is the fact that it was completely unneccesary challenge, there was no way he was getting the ball.

It was a clumsy, rather than malicious challenge and I'm very surprised Davies didn't get a yellow for it. Some reds have been hysterically suggesting it was a straight red, which it wasn't IMO, but there definitely should have been a card. I do think it's quite laughable that slur was moaning to the refs about Bolton BEFORE the game - it clearly backfired, hence no card for Davies on what was a bookable challenge. Losing his touch? P.S. It was a nice touch for red fans to threaten and abuse Kevin Davie's Missus on her twitter account - pure class once again!
