Macheda Loan Spell?

Having spent the majority of last season out on loan, in Italy, Federico Macheda will be looking to gate-crash the United side this season.

Although Sir Alex Ferguson will, no doubt, be looking towards the Carling Cup as a possible place to give the striker some much-needed match time, it ha sot be said that there is a considerable amount of talent stood between the youngster and a first team place.

At the moment, Macheda is behind the strong quartet of Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, Dimirtar Berbatov and Danny Welbeck. Sir Alex Ferguson has already intimated that Macheda needs to show some improvement so is their a solution at hand?

The 'loan window opens for the Football League today giving Sir Alex the perfect opportunity to allow Macheda the chance to go out to a competitive Championship side and harvest some regular first team experience.

The big question is though; would all the parties involved see it as a step up or a step down?

I would say loan him out to a Premier League side only, there's got to be someone interested, Wigan or Blackburn surely. If not, like Pogba, Fergie will tell him to prove himself in the Carling Cup and earn a place in the team through that competition.
