More Barkley Rumours?

More Barkley Rumours?

We`ve already, this week, explored a rumoured interest in United signing the young teenager, Ross Barkley, from Everton.

Despite the seventeen year old having had minimal first team exposure, the press remain convinced that Sir Alex Ferguson has ideas of bringing him to Old Trafford.

Having seen the transfer window slam shut with no apparent movement on the deal, the media are now peddling the story that Sir Alex will tempt Everton with a cash bid of circa £10 million with the added incentive of two squad players thrown in as well!

A transfer to keep an eye on quite possibly?

I don't think Everton will even consider it. Anyone want to place a bet that the 2 squad players the newspaper is talking about is Diouf and Gibson?

While I don't blame Ferguson for trying, I'm insulted he didn't offer a better trade than Darren Gibson, when your squad has the likes of Tom Cleverley, Ji-Sung Park and even Michael Carrick as non-essential players. In saying that however, this story probably isn't even true. Look for a real bid in the next two to three years, though. Especially if our financial situation hasn't changed.

Trust me when I say you really don't want Carrick :P Park and Cleverley are far more essential to this squad than you might think. Cleverley is one of only two attack-minded CM's we've got whilst Park is... well... Park! :D
