Fletcher Presses On!

Although the absence of United action continues to drive me mad, what with the emphasis being firmly placed on the international scene as we wait fourteen days between fixtures, there is one added bonus.

Tonight, as Scotland take on Estonia, we get the chance to see how Darren Fletcher can cope with two games in such a short space of time.

Having played against the Czech Republic, it`ll be interesting to see if Darren can go through the gears without any side effects.

But, having played against the Czech Republic, Darren is trying his best to put to one side memories of the dreadful decision, made by the Dutch referee, that cost Scotland all three points, with Darren remarking,

"What`s done is done."

"We can`t change the result or the referee`s decision. We can only look forward to the Lithuania game."

"It`s no good crying about it. I don`t think it does anybody any good to try to get after the referee."

"He`s made his mistake but we should have won anyway."

"Any time wasted moaning about it is pointless."


It probably is but I doubt whether Sir Alex Ferguson would share the same view if such a diabolical decision had affected Manchester United in a similar fashion.

The thing is Scotland should be moaning about it. That decision could cost them a place in the Euro. FIFA and UEFA should take full responsibility for their ref's mistakes rather than just insisting everything is fine in football. Give the refs the technological assistance they need ffs!
