Rumour Control?

I guess the speculation relating to Wesley Sneijder pitching up at Old Trafford and donning a United shirt will continue until he ether does sign for us or falls from grace.

In the last few days two rumours have been prominent.

The first, one that came to light at the weekend, infers that Sneijder could well still arrive at Old Trafford, this time in the January transfer window.

The second, one that hit the news stands today, infers that Sneijder was asked not to sign for United after a conversation with his former manager, at Inter, Jose Mourinho.

Looking at the first rumour it`s hard to see it happening. For a start Sneijder will be cup-tied as far as European competition goes and unless United are having an appalling season, January isn`t normally a month that Sir Alex Ferguson does much business in.

Concentrating on the second rumour, where`s the logic in it. Mourinho surely isn`t afraid of United compiling a squad that might trouble his precious Real Madrid is he? Also, championed by some as the next United manager, when Sir Alex finally hangs up his hairdryer, having coached Wesley at Inter, wouldn`t he be for United signing the influential midfield playmaker.

Our conclusions being that the second rumour is complete tosh whilst the first rumour remains hard to fathom!

Both rumours are nonsense. We won't be getting Sneijder. Sneijder was never influenced by Mourinho and it was a quick change of story from when he was saying he thought he was close to joining us. He's just trying to appease the Inter fans I imagine.
