Smalling For England?

Is it too early to talk of an international cap for Chris Smalling?

Personally I`d say yes!

But there are rumours out there that infer that Smalling might get an international call-up as England prepare to continue their Euro 2012 qualification campaign.

Smalling, aware of such speculation, remained as modest as ever, commenting to media journalists,

"I`d see an England call-up as a bonus."

"For now, I`m focused on cementing my place here at Manchester United."

"If I can do that, getting selected for England will be easier."

Will he? Won`t he? That is the question!

It's very soon and perhaps he's at too much of a tender age to be managed under Capello and his ridiculously strict approach. With Ferdinand, Terry, Lescott, Jagielka, Cahill, Shawcross all available why select Smalling? Let Smalling develop his game at U21 level with his friends and club-level teammates. The England national set-up needs to stop ignoring the talent outside the top 6 sides.

A bit too early, I must admit though he looks immensly cool and collected wether playing CB or RB.
