A Selection Headache?

Although it is something that has been mentioned in the tabloid press, I`m not sure if Sir Alex Ferguson is being serious or not.

The boss mentions having something of a selection problem looming. It seems that Sir Alex has been impressed with the pairing of Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney up front.

In fact the tabloid in question seems to have been so impressed that it reckons Sir Alex reckons he has a selection headache looming when Javier Hernandez returns from his extended rest, with Sir Alex quoted as having remarked,

"It is interesting to see how well Rooney is combining with Welbeck."

"When Chicharito comes back, I have a selection problem. Chicharito has goals written all over him."

Hardly a selection problem we`d suggest!

It`s just got to be Rooney and Hernandez when both are fit, especially on the evidence of the final months of last season!

Hernandez and Rooney to start with Welbeck on the bench. Owen is back-up for Hernandez so unless Hernandez is unavailable or off-form selection he shouldn't really be in contention. Welbeck over Berby because unless Berby is starting he's pretty much useless. He's no super-sub and struggles to get into a game midway through also his lack of energy doesn't really help us when we're trying to get some momentum going in our attacks or defend a bombardment of corners, crosses and set-pieces like Welbeck can.

Was surprised to see Welbeck start - but was rather glad he did!
