Rooney`s Flying!

This time last year, Wayne Rooney was in the middle of a run whereby he couldn`t hit a barn door.

Also, just around the corner was that episode whereby Wayne decided that Manchester United were not heading down a route that matched his own ambitions.

How times can change so quickly!

Having already opened his account, away at West Bromwich Albion last time out, Rooney has started the season well and Sir Alex Ferguson, probably keen to keep the confidence levels high, has praised his striker, commenting before the game tonight,

"Wayne has been flying in pre-season. His fitness is terrific."

"He has the same energy all the time. He is a restless player on the pitch. He never stands still and is a tremendous asset."

I have a strange feeling that 'buy-bee` Rooney is going to be troubling Spurs tonight!

Rooney will be playing in a position where Sandro, Huddlestone or Palacios would play all of which look unlikely to play so he should have a good game. It's good to have the old Rooney back.
