Giving Youth a Chance!

It was interesting, last weekend; to see the press pick up on just how low the average age of our squad was that finished the Community Shield last Sunday.

With the golden-oldies slowly fading away into the background, Sir Alex Ferguson has signalled his intentions by turning to a younger breed of players and in the build-up to our opening fixture of the 2011/2012 season, Sir Alex has given another broad hint that youth will not only be given its chance but that it will be given a chance to flourish, with the gaffer remarking,

"I`m happy with the young players I`ve got. There`s an emphasis on young players at this club and there always has been."

"Any player coming through the ranks can threaten anyone. If they have the ability and temperament, there is only one thing you can do and that`s play them."

"There`s the young boy (Paul) Pogba, who`s showing great promise for us. We`re quite positive about him."

"If we hold him back, what`s going to happen? He`s going to leave in a couple of years` time when his deal is finished."

It`ll certainly be interesting to see who does come through, and shine, over the coming months.

"If we hold him back, what`s going to happen? He`s going to leave in a couple of years` time when his deal is finished." - Another reason why we shouldn't sign Sneijder. If we sign someone it's got to be a youngster who can provide competition but also has the potential to brilliant rather than someone who is already brilliant and will dominate the role and hinder the youth. Pogba does look like a marvellous talent and he's just one example of many who can make it at the club. Who actually does make it, like Red Boy stated, will be interesting. It will all come down to who shows the most determination and grit to develop and we may see a few appearances this season from the likes of Pogba and Morrison.

Cleverly looked up for the task at West Brom - give hima run I say!
Red Boy
Cleverley had a good start to EPL - couple of passes went astray - but he worked hard in centre of midfield - lets hope Pogba can have at least a couple of runs out soon - would be good to see what hes capable of!
