The Cheek Of It?

The Cheek Of It?

Having signed Phil Jones, from Blackburn, is their manager Steve Kean looking for a favour in return?

The Ewood Park club having received something in the region of £16.5 million for the youngster who can play at centre back or in the middle of the park, are making mutterings about Sir Alex Ferguson looking towards Ewood Park with a favourable attitude when it comes to a possible season long signing to bolster the Rovers playing staff.

Those mutterings infer that Steve Kean is looking to take either - Darren Gibson, Danny Welbeck or Federico Macheda, although, wisely, Kean is a little candid with his words, simply admitting,

"I don`t want to name names because I want to be respectful to Manchester United and Sir Alex. We have a good relationship."

"He has taken one of our players and hopefully the loan market is something we can look at."

For once, I`m undecided as to what Sir Alex`s reactions might be if asked.

How about you?

It could be a good move for both sides. How much playing time are these guys going to get at united this year?? Good for you, good for us and a years first team EPL experience.

Yeah, we're cheeky... some how United found out about Phil Jones release clause without asking the club, I wonder how???!

I see no issue with loaning them out. Look at previous examples, Welbeck has come back looking physically top notch and capable of really pushing for the first team whilst Cleverley also looks like his put on a bit of muscle and his technical game has also massively improved. I wouldn't begrudge loaning Diouf, Macheda and Gibson to them.

I'm surprised Gibson doesn't fancy some time there - he'd shine amongst that dross!
