Obertan seals Toon move

Obertan seals Toon move

Gabriel Obertan has completed his move to Newcastle, signing a 5-year contract.

Obertan struggled to establish himself at United although, as he told the official Newcastle website, he enjoyed his time at Old Trafford.

It was not a hard decision for him to make though to move on and join The Toon: 'I spoke with some of my friends and Newcastle is a big club with history in England, so it's a great move.

'I'm just really happy to be here because this is still a big club for me.

'It wasn't really a difficult decision to come here. I spent two good years in Manchester but it was a bit difficult with the competition and I really needed a club where I could play more games.'

He managed 26 appearances for United in his 2-years at the club following his arrival from Bordeaux and leaves with United recouping the money that was paid out for the winger.

Best of luck Obertan. I hope you prove us wrong for letting you go like Forlan and Rossi before you but, like Rossi and Forlan before you, not in the Premier League :P
