Sneijder wants United move

Sneijder wants United move

The latest on Wesley Sneijder has seen him claim 'unofficial talks' have taken place with United, with him also telling www.nos.nl that he wants to join the club.

An interview, translated by ESPN, claims that he said he wanted to come to Old Trafford when asked the question - responding: 'yes, but Manchester United haven't made an official approach yet.

'There have been unofficial talks, there have been contacts, but then there are always contacts.

'I have contacts with everybody.'

Sneijder has said that Inter do not want to lose him and he thinks the 'chances are' he will still be with Inter Milan at the end of the transfer window.

Although should a 'good offer come in' Inter Milan will deal: 'the situation is that I am now an Inter player, and chances are that I will still be that come August 31. There is also a chance I could leave.

'That isn't really down to me but the club. I think Inter have been very clear: if a good offer comes in, they have to let me go.

'They don't want to lose me but there is a chance they will let me go. If something crosses my path, I have enough time to make my decision.'

This does not seem to be any nearer a resolution does it?

Sneijder is in the country, coming over for the now postponed Holland friendly with England, so I wonder if talks will finally take place, he said the he 'did not know' if this would be the case...

I am really getting tired of this rumor, if we had wanted to buy him, I believe we would have done so earlier. I am sure SAF has ruled that he is to expensive both in transfer and wages, I think SAF is likely to trust Ando and Cleverly to step up while keeping an eye on how the Nasri saga plays out.

Cleverley should also keep in mind that David Nugent, Michael Ricketts and Francis Jeffers also have a piece of blue tassly headgear at home. If we are to take Sir Alex Ferguson's word as his bond and Manchester United really won't sign anyone else this summer, Cleverley has a season to convince his boss that they really don't need to spend enormous amounts of cash on a creative midfielder next summer either. Cleverley is the most naturally creative central midfielder Ferguson currently has at his disposal, and if his development continues then England have another playmaker waiting in the wings.

I think Fergie will stick to his word, something I feared a few weeks back with so much doubt in my mind at whether Cleverley, Pogba, Petrucci or Morrison was ready for the step up and whether Anderson was ever going to break through. Now however, I'm looking forward to watching how they fare. I'm so glad the youngsters are finally being given the chance they deserve.

As for Sneijder he's being quite ambiguous here and the way he says 'I have contacts with everybody.' suggests to me that it isn't the sort of contact many are getting excited about. I'm sorry but the wages and money involved is just too much for the club. That said, I would like another potential world beater join soon in the central midfield.

I think there has been some mind games from Fergie here - he DOES want him, but instead of 'tapping' him up - hes let Wes say he wants to come to us - none of this Luka bullcrap like Chelski keep on doing....
