Achilles forces Carrick out

Achilles forces Carrick out

Tom Cleverley might have come into the England squad on Monday, although one of his United teammates was forced out.

After replacing Michael Carrick at half time in Sunday's community shield he also replaced him in the England squad when Carrick was forced to withdraw.

With Carrick picking up an Achilles injury no risks are being taken, and he is undergoing treatment with the United physio's.

Danny Welbeck should be available though after reports an ankle injury was leaving him 'a doubt'. He could be handed his first England start on only his second appearance for his country.

Assuming the game even goes ahead?
