'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A New Target?

The bid to bring Wesley Sneijder to Old Trafford looks dead and buried.

However, the grapevine is suggesting that United may be turning their attentions to another midfielder.

This time the grapevine is inferring that the Slovakian captain, Marek Hamsik, currently playing for Napoli is in our sights.

With a reputed fee of £25 million on his head, it does, on the surface, look better value for money.

Any thoughts?

At 25 mil I can't see no reason why not and in todays market it seems too good to be true. Hamsik's got a good goal to game ratio averaging at 1 goal every 3 games albeit in a considerably weaker league. He's a decent height and build meaning he's more likely to adapt to the physicality of the league. Not too certain what he's like on the creative, creating space and picking out a pass front but atleast there's comfort in the knowledge that he should get us goals from midfield, something we've been lacking for God knows how long.

hamsik would be a good buy , young and strong

hamsik looks an OK player, and Mancini was allegedly interested in him last season. I guess he's young enough to develop into a world class star, but currently don't think he's a patch on Sneijder.
