Community Shield Beckons!

Could there ever be a better curtain raiser?

Sure, the games with Chelsea, in recent years, have been fascinating but to a Mancunian playing Manchester City, at Wembley, is an enticing prospect.

Even more so when there`s a hint of revenge in the air following our FA Cup semi-final defeat to our noisy-neighbours last season.

Plus there`s the added factor that both sides are entitled to a larger share of the tickets than for any of the other show-piece games.

The word hum-dinger comes to mind with Sir Alex Ferguson commenting on a game that is now less than two weeks away,

"It`s about addressing our noisy-neighbours again. It will be an interesting match."

"It won`t be a normal Community Shield for Manchester United."

See! It`s infectious and I, for one, can`t wait!

Both teams will be going out to win and see it as more of an opportunity to get one over your rivals rather than a boring, moderately intense preseason match. It will definately be more worthwhile than our other Community Shield matches in recent years.

3 visits to Wembley and COULD IT BE 3 LOSSES.....lets hope you shoot at goal more times that the last 2 visits...may make an interesting match if you do.. eh

It's not about how many times you shoot but about how many times you score.

I couldn't care less mate we won the Premier League whilst you picked up the next trophy down ;) When you prove yourself in a marathon rather than a sprint I might just be impressed. Sprints can be won by anyone you see, just look at Portsmouth.

We'll see how well your collection of one-legged dogs that passes for a midfield gets on in the marathon this season eh?

We'll also see how your pathetic excuse for wingers will get on also eh?

Not that Mancini generally plays wingers in the traditional way but who exactly is our pathetic excuse for wingers? Silva? Johnson?

Johnson, Milner, Wright-Phillips and Weiss. Odd how you buy a target man like Dzeko but don't give him sufficient supply lines to play to his physical strengths.

So Johnson is a pathetic excuse for a winger is he? Buying Dzeko was to have an alternative option up front, the system will have to be rejigged to play to his strengths, who knows maybe that is being worked on in preseason. Not really the best time to alter your system mid season to accommodate a new player now is it?

Tf7, again the Semi Final was Utd's catalyst, as IT WAS a trophy you wanted, just to TRY AND shut US up, and when you LOST, it became a non trophy... then it became the CL and PL WERE BIGGER ..... as the banner proves some fans wanted to put up what 43 years? IT really *****ed you lot off that you lost the So-called Treble... AND we are SUPPOSED TO BE THE BITTER ONES.... doesnt look like it, does it?

No you're right Johnson right up there with the Di Maria's, Nani's, Robben and Ribery's. He's an average winger, like our average central midfield.

Nani has one decent season and he's right up there is he?

WHY ARE YOU WRITING IN CAPITALS? I can read you know. "So-called Treble" - It's not 'so-called', if you win 3 trophies it is called a treble. Also, put simply, both the Champions League and Premier League are bigger tournaments than the FA Cup, they never 'became' bigger, they are bigger. Fact. Full stop. End of story. Quick question, what have we got to be bitter about exactly? Because we missed out on a treble when we were so close? Tell me how many teams wouldn't be annoyed when missing out on a treble? God knows what your obsession is with who's bitter and who isn't anyway. I've got more pressing issues to worry about than a my dads van is better than your dads van anyway, no-one gives a 5hit who's more bitter. It's said against you because you get wound up and defensive about. Honestly the word is about as insulting as someone calling you a di(khead, you just shrug it off.

Decent season? Clearly you never watched him. It was a fantastic season whereby he finished top of the assists board as well grabbing a good few goals along the way and he would've had more with a bit more luck. Whether you like to admit it or not last season was Nani's breakthrough season, consistently terrorising defenders and it's a wonder how Bale won player of the year over him and based upon that, he surely has to be considered one of the best wingers in the world.

In short, your wingers are the average equivalent to our central midfield.
