Sad Times?

Back in the swing of things with pre-season training now the priority, before heading off to the States, Wayne Rooney has spoken about the changing face of the squad.

Obviously pressed on the departures and those who have arrived, Wayne remained diplomatic, remarking,

"It`s obviously sad to lose all those players from the dressing room."

"On the other hand it`s exciting having new players coming in."

"You want to see how the new players get on in training and in games so it`s certainly exciting as well."

"Brown and O`Shea are ambitious footballers and want to play every week, so I understand why they have left but I`m sad to lose them as players and friends as well."

"It`s certainly going to be a loss for us but they`ll be excited to start a new life at Sunderland."

All I`ll say is that it`ll make for interesting viewing when we play Sunderland both home and away next season!

It's guttening to see two great loyal servants to the club leave. It's frustrating that players like Carrick and Owen have kept their place whilst O'Shea was allowed to move on.

How Michael Owen got another year I will never ever know.
