Nasri Mystery!

Numerous news agencies are of the common opinion that Manchester United are still keen to lure Samir Nasri to Old Trafford.

Those same news agencies have also been keen to hang onto the inference from Arsene Wenger that he`ll not sell to United!

But one thing puzzles me in all this!

If United are keen on the player and the player, as previously stated, wants to move to a club where he can win trophies, is it also being reported that Arsenal, despite all this press bluster, have yet to receive any sort of offer from Old Trafford?

Come on Fergie get a move on and sign someone.

What we know about this story: 1) Evra said Nasri should join United if he wants to win trophies; 2) Nasri said he didn't know if the interest was real; and 3) Wenger said he would not sell Nasri to United. The supposed talks have been between United and people who don't actually represent Nasri, but I'm sceptical. Everything else has just been an escalation by the red tops, 99% of it complete fabrication. Lots of 'unnamed sources' and even more information with no sources at all. I saw one report that said something along the lines of 'according to his close friend Patrice Evra', which is the most laughable of all- did they forget it was a feud between Nasri and Evra that resulted in Evra winning and Nasri missing the world cup for 'team harmony'? Hardly good friends by any definition of the word, and that's the source?

Everything else has just been an escalation by the red tops. And that's it. All paper talk. Man Utd want him, did so before he came to Arsenal, we dont want to sell him and I dont think he even wants to leave. He's already said people shouldn't listen to the rumours and that he and Wenger had decided to wait until the summer to thrash out a new contract. The media just went into overdrive this summer.

If only Rupert Murdoch had Nasri's, Wengers and Fergie's phones hacked we would all know whats going on with this bs. One day it's Nasri then it's Sneijder then it's Modric, tomorrow it will be Joe Cole. It is getting frustrating hearing all these rumours and non stories, you would almost swear that the media make up these stories just to sell more papers but I am sure they are completely trustworthy, lol.

It's the same newspapers that are suggesting Arsenal are after Mata as a replacement for Nasri, just to solidify their lie, I mean fact, that what they're saying is all true. I would like Nasri but I'm not overly fussed whether we get him Modric, Costa, Sneijder, etc, etc (seriously, any AM would make me happy at the moment) and am still expecting him to sign a new contract at Arsenal.

It all smells of a mega contract offer from arsenal to me although i hope he wants to join united

Im with you FN7, any buy right now and I will be chuffed. Think im leaning to Sneijder now, think he would give us the biggest boost of all.

I think we want him, but there are question marks over his attitude. If he comes here he'd have to grow up a little bit. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a big money extension or an even bigger deal at city. If all his recent talk is genuine I.e. He's only interested in trophies instead of money - then he wouldn't be considering offers from any other English club. Somehow, I just don't believe him.
