Brown`s Gone!

Wes Brown finally called time on his Old Trafford career yesterday.

The versatile defender finalized his move to Sunderland putting pen-to-paper on a four year deal.

Although many sources quoted the transfer fee as not being disclosed, some sources put the figure as high as £7 million.

Paraded in his new Sunderland strip, Wes had this to say about his move,

"It has been okay getting my head around leaving United."

"I am older now, so you deal with these things. It was disappointing not playing as much as I could have at United in the last couple of seasons. Just to know I will be back playing, and focusing on that, makes it better."

"Physically I am fine. Last season I was fine I just didn`t get into the team,. It was frustrating, so I have moved on."

"I am delighted to be here to play football and move the club forward."

"Why Sunderland? It`s a big club and Steve Bruce was a big factor in it. I know a couple of the lads here and they said it is a wonderful place."

"The fans will see I give my al. I want to play every week, help the team win and get into European places. Who knows beyond there? The squad is now a lot stronger."

Vital Manchester United would like to thank Wes for his loyal service and wish him well at the Stadium of Light and we look forward to our paths crossing!

Browns has been a good servant for us, good luck to him at the Mackems, hopefully with some game time he can get his form back.

"Physically I am fine." - Brown, technically and physically your were a very good defender but your mental skills is where things went wrong. You lost concentration and we seemed to suffer for it more times than not and when your head dropped it tended to stay dropped.

All the same best of luck, you were a great servent to the club and players like yourself are hard to find these days.
