Van der Sar on his Successor!

One of the most intriguing aspects of the coming season is whether or not United have, at the first opportunity, found a replacement for the retired Edwin van der Sar.

The Dutchman, a keeper who ended our search, at about the sixth attempt, to find a successor to the Great Dane, is of the opinion that David De Gea is the man for the job.

Speaking about his successor, Edwin had this to say in the media,

"United scouted all over Europe and found a couple of targets and they chose de Gea."

"Hopefully he`s going to have a great career at Manchester United. He`s very talented."

"He`s already won a trophy with Atletico Madrid and the Spain U21 team so the prospect of him doing well is there."

"Everybody has to be his own person but I`ve met him. I`ve spoken to him and it looks to me as though he can handle it."

I hope so, memories of the uncertainty that followed the Great Dane`s retirement are still haunting!

So many keepers who have been there and done it have talked up De Gea which is very comforting and hopefully they all can't be wrong.

"intriguing" there's that word again. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't thunderbird Hansen slated on this very site for using the same word in relation to De Gea last week?
