Nasri Update!

Sir Alex Ferguson has already splashed the cash this summer but you get the impression the canny Scot hasn`t quite finished yet.

There could still be one or two players coming to Old Trafford with United still expressing an interest in the want-away Arsenal star, Samir Nasri.

Nasri, who has plunged a dagger through the hearts of Arsenal supporters by declaring that he wants to play for a club that wins trophies, is set to meet Arsene Wenger (if the tabloid press are correct) today to decide his future.

It is expected that Nasri will press home his desire to leave and that Arsenal will decide to sell rather than let him run his contract down and leave for nothing.

If that does prove to be the case, then United will be up against stiff opposition in the shape of Manchester City and Chelsea.

City, considered to be the favourites at the moment, are looking to do a double deal with Arsenal with Gael Clichy also going to Eastlands whilst last seasons runners-up are looking to inject some creativity in an ageing side.

But if it`s trophies he`s after, Old Trafford would seem the logical decision!

As long as he stays in England we are the best bet. Would be a great signing for us.

Wenger has got some thinking to do. I can't imagine him selling to local rivals and title rivals Chelsea. If he goes to City it won't be to win trophies and he would appear as much of a traitor as Barry did win he left Villa to win 'trophies'. City, with the extra games next season will be fighting for CL qualification again I reckon, making them direct competition for Arsenal, another reason why Wenger shouldn't sell to them. As for us, we're rivals for the title, if Wenger sells Nasri it isn't the title he should be concerned about but his CL spot. In my bias towards United eyes, if Nasri wants to win trophies, we're the place which guarentees it and provides the least risk to Arsenal's Champions League spot. Nasri should perhaps take a leaf out of Flamini/Hleb book and understand moving out of England, though an option, isn't the best one and should rebuff any foreign offers.

I have a funny suspicion he'll end up at one of the Milan clubs.
Kanchelskis
.... and waste his talent as well as kill off his career.

This is the seventh deadline the media set for him in the past month. No doubt there will be another. I'll bet my house that he stays at Arsenal and sees out his contract before signing a pre contract agreement with Real. If he does move it will be to City. This has nothing to do with trophies and everything to do with money.
