'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Glad to be Here!

The deal is done and dusted and we`d imagine that for a price of £18.9 million David De Gea will be our first choice keeper next season.

The talented young Spanish keeper will be top of a pecking order that currently includes Anders Lindegaard, Thomasz Kuszczak and Ben Amos and after putting pen to paper spoke to MUTV expressing his delight at joining Manchester United, remarking,

"I feel very proud and I can`t wait to start playing here."

"When a club the size of Manchester United comes in for you, it obviously makes you very, very happy. I`m keen to do my best and show what I can do."

"I saw Manchester United`s interest as an extra motivation to work even harder to show off my ability."

"It`s a great privilege to be part of a club like United."

Sir Alex Ferguson, delighted that he`s secured his third major summer acquisition, also spoke about the signing of a keeper he hopes can fill the gloves of the legendary Edwin van der Sar, commenting,

"He`s a young goalkeeper, very quick, good composure, presence and an outstanding replacement for Van der Sar."

"We were looking for the same type of qualities as Edwin, because the one great quality Edwin always had was his composure and organizational ability."

Hopefully, the transition will be a smooth one and we will not be put through the same turmoil we endured when the 'Great Dane` finished his days at Old Trafford.

Hopefully he will have a fruitful time with us.If he can match Edwin,I would say it is money well spent.

Many speak of him having the ability to emulate Van Der Sar but forget he has the potential to be better than Van Der Sar. I'm glad he signed on and the keeper position is now secure and hopefully secure for years to come. Now, whilst we're signing youngsters with massive potential lets get Douglas Costa.

I honestly think this lad can outdo Eddy, he could be our no 1 for 15 years. Now all we need is a midfielder and Douglas Costa is a good shout, ***** its not even July and we've spent over 50 million signed 3 players and are still on the lookout for a midfielder or 2 this has been the most exciting summer transfer window for a decade.
