'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Us and Barcelona?

The transfer grapevine has provided an interesting discussion point today.

With Manchester United and Barcelona, at one time or another, having declared an interest in the Chilean winger, Alexis Sanchez, could Barcelona be lining up an alternate investment?

One news source is actively reporting that the Catalan side are considering making an offer for Nani if Sanchez doesn`t join them.

Now the only way that`d please me is if it meant we`d beaten Barcelona to the signature of Sanchez.

I can't see this happening for 3 reasons: 1 They are extremely close to signing fabregas or sanchez which means they won't have the funds to sign nani. 2 I don't know where he will fit for them as the top 3 spots are already sealed,i.e.,messi,villa and pedro with afellay waiting in the wings. 3 Nani will start atleast 80% of the games for us and the most important thing is he is still developing all the time and will get even better in the coming season.I'm pretty sure young has been brought in to play in the middle and he can do that without having much problems,so I won't be surprised if we don't sign anyone else. Our youngsters too have to be given a chance.

Pretty much want Antriksh said sums it up for me. Nani would never fit into the Barca system. Barca wouldn't Nani for that very same reason. Barca can't afford Nani. Barca will be looking at other players like Cesc/Neymar/Sanchez.
