The Cleverley Situation!

It escapes me as to who crooned the wonderful line - 'you can`t always have what you want` - but it is a line that aptly describes the situation surrounding Tom Cleverley.

Having spent a season long loan spell at the DW Stadium, with Wigan, it`s understood that the Latics chief executive, Jonathan Jackson, would like Tom on his playing staff for next season on another loan spell.

But, he`s realistic enough to accept that Sir Alex Ferguson might not be so readily willing to accommodate the request, remarking,

"Tom has returned to United having done well for us."

"As for what happens next, it depends what Sir Alex Ferguson`s views are. Maybe the time is right for him to step into their squad."

What are your views?

Should Tom be kept at Old Trafford or should he be given the chance to get another season, on loan, under his belt?

I was extremely disappointed to see him go out on loan and the last thing I want is this guy being denied a chance again.A lot of decisions have to be made and for me,to tell u the truth,I wouldn't want us to get anyone right now,I want to see Andy being given a full chance, for me this is his make or break season, plus Tom is another one who should be given a proper chance to break into the team,we already have Fletch and Carrick and I haven't even spoken of Young who can play in the middle as well. The players that we have right now will surely give SAF a lot of options to play with.

The lads a good player, but I cant see him challenging for a first team spot not unless we lose someone between now and the end of the window. He done well at Wigan, maybe another loan with an anytime recall option would be best. As far as our central midfield goes it needs improving, Carrick is not good enough, he has been exposed time and again, Anderson, ye he could be a good player but whats that 4 seasons now of saying the same thing, Fletcher is quality our best centre mid by far, in my opinion we need a creative mid with good vision and a goal threat Anderson maybe that player but I wouldn't count on it.

I feel he needs another season on loan. Hopefully not at Wigan but at a bigger club.

I'd sooner him stay. We can't keep denying the youngsters chances because eventually they will just pack up their bags and leave. We need a midfielder and we've got a decent one in Cleverley so lets use him. He may prove to be all we need. However, with Financial Fair Play coming into full effect next season I would still like to see the club buy another CAM as a precautionary in the event he doesn't work out and also to provide competition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsHo8Z6lKPg ----- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRcKtYqcA_8
