Ruud van Nistelrooy Going Nowhere?

Sir Alex Ferguson has cast doubts over paper talk that Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will be leaving Old Trafford.

Ruud, who will return to training on Monday with the rest of the squad, has expressed an interest in leaving and bids from both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been lodged and rejected.

Now Ferguson has told the official site, 'Ruud is not definitely leaving and I expect to see him at training on Monday.'

I tell you what, that is music to my ears, I don't know about you but I think it would be a ridiculous sale to make, why let last seasons top scorer leave? It isn't as if there are that many clear replacements, certainly none that could guarantee the goals that Ruud can.

Fergie continued: 'I spoke to David Gill on the phone yesterday and there is no development as far as Real Madrid is concerned. They have made an offer, we have rejected it. That is where the situation lies. If they don't come back in and increase their offer, he won't be going and I would be content with that. It would not bother me one bit.'

'He is a striker who can score upwards of 20 goals a season and there are not many of those going around.'

Well, let's hope that Ruud can sort out whatever problems he has with Man Utd and get on with what he's there for - scoring goals!!!
