Young Deal Sealed

Having been favourites to secure his services but with a few loose ends to tie up, Manchester United finalized the deal today to secure the services of the Aston Villa forward, Ashley Young.

Young underwent a medical at Bridgewater Hospital, in Manchester, and has put pen-to-paper on a five year United contract.

The fee is a cool 16 million with it being reported the ex-Watford youngster will be pocketing something like 130,000 a week.

Hopefully the next to sign, following Young and Phil Jones to Old Trafford, will be the young Spanish keeper, David de Gea.

Although we knew he was going to go, it is still very disappointing when it actually happens! You have signed a top player with a great work ethic in Ashley.

As an England fan I hope Fergie can get Young back on track as he's been living off reputation at the Villa for tha past 2 seasons. On his day he is unplayable but those days have been too infrequent lately. Good Luck Ash

If ever there was a perfect fit, it is Man Utd and Ashley Young. Wins lots of penalties (5 last season), dives embarrassingly, and doesn't stop moaning from the first whistle to the last. Had reached his peak at Villa so I'm not heartbroken he's moved on.

Caaachiiiing ...... thank you very much ..... will be lost in the Utd set up though, no where near good enough for you lot, as you'll see, if you've paid 17m for him, then Sneidjer is worth 100m !!! lmao

Has proven he steps up to the level when he plays for England. He's a good player with a good work ethic. A little wasted at Villa and needs to get back out wide, not as a second striker 'in the hole' type. When he's played for England he looks the business...hopefully being at United will teach him that cutting inside and curling a shot over the bar isn't good. I hope he does well for you

Good signing for us. 3 of the best wingers in the league at Utd. Now for a central midfielder.....

Excuse me if I don't jump up and down with joy over this, 16 million and 130,000 a week to be 3rd choice winger, that 16 million could of helped us get the "overpriced" Sneijder.

The general figure being thrown around is 20 mil though I read somewhere that we actually paid 17 rather than 20.

Of course you did TF7. But if you heard the extortionate figures being said about City you wouldn't question it would you?

How on Earth did and article and comment completely unrelated to City end up with me being accused about something to do with City? :S It would appear I can do no right in some peoples eyes.
