Young Deal Sealed

Having been favourites to secure his services but with a few loose ends to tie up, Manchester United finalized the deal today to secure the services of the Aston Villa forward, Ashley Young.

Young underwent a medical at Bridgewater Hospital, in Manchester, and has put pen-to-paper on a five year United contract.

The fee is a cool £16 million with it being reported the ex-Watford youngster will be pocketing something like £130,000 a week.

Hopefully the next to sign, following Young and Phil Jones to Old Trafford, will be the young Spanish keeper, David de Gea.

Although we knew he was going to go, it is still very disappointing when it actually happens! You have signed a top player with a great work ethic in Ashley.

As an England fan I hope Fergie can get Young back on track as he's been living off reputation at the Villa for tha past 2 seasons. On his day he is unplayable but those days have been too infrequent lately. Good Luck Ash

If ever there was a perfect fit, it is Man Utd and Ashley Young. Wins lots of penalties (5 last season), dives embarrassingly, and doesn't stop moaning from the first whistle to the last. Had reached his peak at Villa so I'm not heartbroken he's moved on.

Has proven he steps up to the level when he plays for England. He's a good player with a good work ethic. A little wasted at Villa and needs to get back out wide, not as a second striker 'in the hole' type. When he's played for England he looks the business...hopefully being at United will teach him that cutting inside and curling a shot over the bar isn't good. I hope he does well for you
