Nani Staying!

Nani Staying!

Our Portuguese flyer, Nani, seems particularly fond of generating column inches.

The latest column filler infers that although he`d like to work under the leadership of his fellow Portuguese citizen, Jose Mourinho, he is perfectly happy at Old Trafford and sees no reason to move on, thereby seemingly ending those whispers that he could he heading for the out door.

This is what Nani had to say to the media,

"Would I like to work under Mourinho? Yes, but I am fine at United."

"This was my best year for United and it was a surprise not to start against Barcelona, although I played 20 minutes. But that was Alex Ferguson`s decision and I accept it."

With Ashley young now on the books, could Nani`s appearances, in a red-shirt, become fewer and fewer or is he an essential part of Sir Alex Ferguson`s plans?

Nani's become a key part of the set-up and I can't imagine Fergie letting him leave. Nani, you just might get to work with Mourinho when Fergie retires so you're best of staying put.

Why would we offload him after his best ever season in a red shirt?

I can't imagine Young getting in the team over Valencia or Nani. He's there for competition no doubt but I can imagine him playing through the center if anywhere.

In fairness he does have experience through the middle, hopefully his crosses won't be missed.
