Are Spurs Getting Nervy?

Are Spurs Getting Nervy?

With it being widely accepted that Sir Alex Ferguson has his eyes on the talented Spurs midfielder, Luka Modric, there are some comments coming out of North London that are not of the all`s fair in love and war kind.

Spurs seem to be getting tetchy about the link between Modric and United and in the News of the World this morning, are some words from a Spurs source that could be viewed as highly inflammable, with a Spurs source commenting,

"We`ve had problems with United in the past when they were chasing Berbatov."

"We keep a close eye on everything. It`s not limited to United`s interest in Modric."

What are they on about?

*I tell you* This isn't an attack on Man Utd fans, it's just that your team always looks to us for talent. We have ambitions of our own too, you know!

nervy?? how is that statement nervy? all it's stating is we don't have to sell to just man utd, man city and chelsea will both offer us much more money for modric and offer him bigger wages so to think he will only go to united is just plain stupid, were not nervy at all you just need to at the very least double your £20m offer then we might listen although harry himself has stated that our chairmain has assured him no matter what offer is recieved we will not entertain any bids for modric, bale, sandro or vdv, LOOK ELSEWHERE OLD RED NOSE!!!

Fergie hasn't said anything or declared any interest in Modric what so ever. You sure you're not getting nervy?

Remember when you Spud fans were 8itching about Westham owners actually building up the Parker rumour more so than yourselves? Well, guess what you're doing.

The days when a single departure would decimate the team are gone. I spent half the season exasperated with Modric as he repeatedly wasted opportunities to counter-attack by being slow on the ball. Kranjcar was more effective when played. Believe me, if Modric did go, it would be far from the end of the world.

How did you feel when RM came hunting for Ronaldo? The trouble with you lot is you cant tell the difference between a lie and the truth. Do you honestly believe the AF has not at some time said I want Modric and I am goung to try and get him. If you dont believe that well.......................

Getting well nervy, but not really worried about united. Although Modric would fit in the united team perfectly, have they really got the £50m it would take for us to sell him? He's on a 6 year deal, he is young and he is at a club that doesnt need or want to sell, all that makes him a very expensive player. I only really see Chelsea or Citeh having the buying power. United have cooled there interest and are looking at Nasri, who would cost under £20m cos of his contract expiring next year and could go get Charlie adams for £5-6m. Hopefully Modrics price tag is putting untied off this year and Im confident we can hold off Citeh and Chelsea cos they havent got the pull united have.

TheFamousNumber7?? Blimey Stanley Matthews died years ago. Explains some comments from the parallel universe. Who mentioned Fergie saying anything? Even interllectual inadequates should be able to detect the usual devious/underhand way this man operates through sycophantic intermediaries. With an IQ of 7 surely this not rocket science!!!

Fergie's been telling Redknapp to say those things to the media then has he oldun? Put simply, I think you Spuds are getting worked up over nothing. Your manager constantly babbling to the media about it isn't helping, I think the media darling 'Arry don't like someone else having the limelight, it makes him all nervous and twitchy thus the compulsion to hype up a non-existant transfer. Funny, when Fergie says something he's tapping up, when he says nothing he's tapping up, what do you want him to do?
