Young Deal Done!

Well that didn`t take long did it?

All week we`ve been reporting on how the proposed move to get Ashley Young to Old Trafford was gaining momentum but, despite hoping so, we never believed it would be wrapped up so quickly.

But it appears that it has with it being announced this morning that Young has signed a four year deal after having had a medical last night.

The fee is reported as being closer to £20 million than the £16 million it was rumoured to be taking United`s spending up to £55 million already this close season.

Welcome to Old Trafford Ashley Young!

I'd be much happier with 18-20m for Young, wouldn't leave such a bitter taste in my mouth and could accept him moving onto better things.

My opinion is he is overrated still...but i wish him all the success at utd, i really do hope he does well. He hasn't done a barry or milner and left us for the money he has left because you ARE the champions of england and have been in the champions league final. You are the 2nd best team in the world and probably will be next year so i have no hard feelings about him leaving us for you lot because it IS a step up unlike the other two greedy players who left us.

If anyone can make him live up to his potential it's Fergie. He has a way with English, well, British players. I'm not exactly thrilled but at the same time I can see the logic behind his transfer. Whether you condone his transfer or not as a fanbase we must back our players, so atleast get behind him whilst he's wearing the shirt. Welcome to The Theatre of Dreams.
TheFamousNo7
All we need now Fergie is a DM and AM.

55 million spent and still no def or att midfielder wtf is going on. I think Young is overrated and not as good as what we already have but whilst he's wearing a Utd shirt I will support him and hope he does well. Fergie has proved people wrong before so let's hope he's done it again but nearly 20 ******** million for Young, thats crazy *****. (Sneijder must be worth 60 million minimum) Over 50 million spent and our main targets not signed yet is a worry, how much more are the trolls at the top going to cough up. I have a funny feeling one of our big name players might be sold off, Nani perhaps.
Kanchelskis
Young is great addition, he will come relatively cheap, and we do neet quality backup for Nani and Valenci. Furthermore Young can play in different positions, I think at United he will turn into a star performer. Forget Sneijder, I dont want United to pay 40-50 m£ + a huge salary, I want United to be sensible and not throw stupid money around like City. Sneijder is 27, I would prefer us to promote Cleverly and Pogba and let them have 2 years to turn into star midfield players, and hope that Ando and Fletch can carry the midfield until the Pogba and Cleverly are ready.. Keep the faith in the youngsters.
nordkap
Funny it's not been announced on the official site, and until it is, no deal has been done.
Spangle
Spangle, it is pretty much done to be honest. And nordkap i like how you say 'relatively cheap' 16m - 20m, something between that is not cheap!
P.Avfc
Forget Sneijder lololol sure I will now that we have the mercurial talent of Ashley Young on the books who needs a truly world class centre midfielder who can actually pass the ball, score and create chances easily. Where are you getting 50 million from, 35 has been mentioned a bit more than Modric's supposed selling figure(besides Young at 20 and Jones at another 20 and your'e worried about paying 50 for Sneijder). Young at 20 million is not ******** cheap ffs some have said Modric is available for 20 to 30 million how the ***** is Young worth almost 20 million. You want Anderson and Fletch to carry the midfield, sure Fletch can but what have you seen of Anderson that suggests he can carry the midfield? Ffs he's got the ball control and shooting ability of Heather Mills and he cost almost 20 million, he couldn't get into the team ahead of 2 pensioners.
Kanchelskis
well im looking foward to seeing him and nani play together it gonna be really kool......
henry_shyboy
Anderson's ball control is something to be admired, he's one of the few players in across our entire midfield line who actually possesses some dribbling ability. This season Anderson has done much more good than bad and put in a couple MOTM performances along the way as well as grabbing a few goals. He will run at defenders, he will feed the forwards with through balls, alot more than the current batch. He and Fletcher at current are our only good CM's.
TheFamousNo7
All you need now is Rodwell & Chamberlain.
