Trying to Force the Issue?

Is Dimitar Berbatov proving to be quite a sharp character.

The reason I ask is that his recent declaration whereby he announced he wants to remain at Old Trafford could give United problems.

Berbatov, who many expected to demand a move after his Champions Leage Final dispapointment, is in the last yea ro fhis contract.

Therefore, some big-wig at Old Trafford has to make a decision.

If, as we suspect, United are not going to offer Berbatov a contract extension then come this time next year Berbatov will be free to leave for nothing.

Having cost in excess of £30 million from Spurs, if United choose to not offer a contract extension and let Berbaotv run his ocntract down, it represents a huge financial hole.

Therefore, whilst Berbatov may very well want to stay another year (at least) don`t be surprised if he doesn`t have much choice in the matter and finds himself clearing his locker and moving to a new club!

It's more a case of whether Berbs would accept another offer more than whether Utd offer him a deal or accept a bid. Fergie shafted Berbs and he's gonna get shafted right back. i think Berbs will sacrifice one year in order to try to destroy Fergie.lol.lol

Berby is forcing our hand if when offered a new contract he doesn't sign.

He'll be gone this summer, probably back to Germany, Utd will take 10 million and you know some clubs out there will take a punt at that price or he'll sign on and be a much maligned squad player who sits and wonders why Owen is still here.
