Carrick Out of International!

Any hopes Michael Carrick had of exorcising a few Wembley ghosts after the humbling by Barcelona last Saturday have been put on hold.

Carrick would have been hoping to get a start in the European Championship qualifier against Switzerland this Saturday but injury has deprived him of that prospect.

It`s being reported that Carrick, who joined the England squad struggling with a hip injury, picked up in the Champions League Final, has not responded to treatment and has been ordered back to United for further treatment.

I guess that exorcism will have to wait a little longer!

Carrick was a decent CM, he could pass forward rather than just backward, play a decent long pass, read the game well and make decent tackles and interceptions then he played Barca. Iniesta and Xavi tore him a new one and left his chasing shadows and just completely lost. Carrick was then absolute dog ****** for one and half years before finally regaining some form and playing a pivotal role in a couple of games with great performances. Still not quite the full ticket he played Barca again and it was just a repeat. Hopefully, a repeat of form isn't on the cards also. He's no first-team starter with even an inconsistent Anderson being better I reckon, but still a useful squad player to have.

grrrrr i hate it but i have to agree , but, we had only him as a defensive midfielder in the final, giggs IMO had to play wide and park had to be thee 1 playing in the middle along carrick , or maybe ando in set of park , or even fletch out of form, the responsability for carrick was too much and we should never play just 1 defensive midfielder against a team like barza, it was given that it was gonna be a fight in the middle and how to win it with just carrick, i hope he gets back up.................................many thanks to schollsy and gary, both are superb roll models and long live man utd! :), hope next years final we can get barza again :)
