United - Victory Parade

Inclement weather, although some would say it was typical Manchester weather, could well have ruined the parade yesterday.

But, despite the heavens opening on more than one occasion, it went off quite well.

Perhaps the crowds weren`t as big as on previous occasions but a good time was had by all.

Noticeably, it gave whole families the chance to share in the United experience, something, due to the modern nature of the game, it isn`t possible to do on match days.

It was a fact noticed by Sir Alex Ferguson, who had this to say about the event and the point referenced previously,

"This is what Manchester United is all about, it shows fantastic loyalty from the fans."

"The weather is horrible but the fans are here. Well done to all of them."

"What really impresses me is the number of children who are here."

"There are a lot of fathers here with kids who are as young as one or two years of age sitting on their shoulders."

"That`s the future of Manchester United, the young people."

They could well be although in what guise the game will take when they reach the age of their fathers is anyone`s guess.

Not the biggest turn out but a turn out is a turn out non the less.

At least Vital manU is gracisous enough to admit that your victory parade was a damp squib - have heard from certain sources that you had over 150K, which to be frank is probably about 2-3 times the actual number.
