Smalling Changes Seats!

Smalling Changes Seats!

Chris Smalling has come an incredibly long way in such a short space of time.

The talented defender, signed from Fulham, was playing non-league football only a matter of two or three years ago and now he stands on the precipice of being involved in the final of the greatest club competition there is.

Now, barring injury, we don`t expect Chris to start but we certainly expect him to have one of the best seats in the house - on the bench.

Reflecting on the stature of what`s approaching, Chris recalled how the final was always compulsive viewing when he was a youngster, remarking,

"I used to watch the Champions League at my mates` houses.

"Everyone watches, regardless whether you support a team or not. It`s great to be able to be part of it."

I bet he never dreamed that in such a short period of time his life would have transformed so much!

A dream come true we`d say!

Clearly the replacement for Ferdinand. He's very modest and down to Earth, when he speaks to the media, it's often about keeping a level head and remembering who you are and where you came from.
