De Gea Praise!

Having signed our replacement for Edwin van Der Saar, it hasn`t taken long for column inches to appear, in the tabloid press, inferring that we`ve got a good deal.

Great things are predicted for De Gea and although some have suggested the price tag might be a little hefty, but we`re safe in the knowledge that you get what you pay for these days.

One of the first to pop up to sing the praises of our new number one is the legendary Spanish keeper, Ikar Casillas.

Casillas is obviously looking over his shoulder wondering if the youngster will soon be challenging him as the reputed number one in the world and has come out and remarked, amongst other things related to De Gea,

"He will soon be fighting for my place. He`s a great keeper."

"We have to take care of him because he is the future. He is 20 years old. He will pension us all off."

A little too hefty a fee! We don`t think so we could get fifteen years service out of this lad and he could prove to be an absolute bargain!

Best way to look at it is the potential, current ability, possible service to the club and resale value. He ticks all the boxes.

He seems to be a lot like Van der Saar and with time and experience could go on to be Edwin 2.0.
