'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vidic Keeps His Eye on the Ball

Having been confirmed as the Barclays 'Player of the Year` our club captain, Nemanja Vidic, obviously enjoyed lifting the Premier League trophy, at Old Trafford, yesterday afternoon.

But, with the celebrations ongoing, Vidic was very quick to ensure that the forthcoming Champions League Final, this Saturday, at Wembley wasn`t forgotten about, remarking,

"We have to come down after this excitement. We have to prepare as best as we can for Barcelona."

"We are celebrating but everyone is thinking about the next game. It is the biggest game of the whole year."

"We know what it feels like to go to the final and lose. It was one of the saddest moments of my career and I`m sure all the players won`t forget that."

"We know we are facing a very, very good team and we have to be physically and psychologically ready. Against this Barcelona team you have to be intelligent."

"They have qualities, but we will try to work on their weaknesses, expose them and try to win the game."

The build up promises to be quite an experience, bring it on!

Keep teh squad firmly planted on the ground and maybe, just maybe, they might turn up this time. I still believe that the loss on the night was solely due to the fact that the team felt them being there was enough and that despite the odds something would just happen for us. That and the Ronaldo-show didn't help.
