United in Full Back Chase!

United in Full Back Chase!

With Gary Neville having retired earlier this season, it had been thought that the natural progression would see either of the Da Silva twins slip into the right back position.

After all, between them they`ve made 26 appearances, but that progression may not be the route Sir Alex Ferguson takes.

The word, in the Sunday tabloid press, is that Sir Alex could be lining up a bid for the Ajax right-back, Gregory van der Wiel.

A fee of £12 million is mentioned for the classy Dutch defender and there is rumoured to be competition for his signature from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

Keep an eye on this one it could go all the way!

At 12 mil we would be practically stealing him and whoever does get him, assuming they actually get him at that price, would've done well for themselves. Personally don't think we need him, Rafael and Fabio have been a sensation since joining the side and there's no doubt in my mind that they will be our RB and LB for years to come.

We do not need any more full backs Fabio and Rafael are progressing really well, however, 12 million in todays market would be quite the coup for who ever gets Van der Wiel. We need strengthening in other areas spend the cash on those problem areas first.
