Hailing Hernandez

Hailing Hernandez

If there was an award for the transfer bargain of the season then Sir Alex Ferguson (and his team) would win it hands down with the capture of Chicharito.

The Mexican, brought to English football last summer, would probably have been expected to take a season just to settle into a new environment before blossoming like United would have hoped for.

Instead Chicharito has taken England by storm and has netted 20 goals in his first season, with 13 of them coming in the Premier League.

On Sunday, Chicharito showed extreme poise and a cool head to slot the opener past Petr Cech with only thirty-six seconds on the clock, a feat that Ryan Giggs commented on in the aftermath of the victory with the Welsh international remarking,

"Twenty goals in his first season really is unbelievable."

"You always have chance when you have a goal-scorer like Javier. He has made a fantastic impact on and off the pitch."

"His goal on Sunday sums up his season."

"Sometimes those chances can come a bit early for you. You are not quite up to speed. But on 30-odd seconds he gets a chance and he scores."

Like we said earlier, the transfer bargain of the season!

Oh I remember the comments when he joined, so many wrote him off, bloody hell were they wrong. I think he's fantastic, his attitude and work rate fit right in with the team and at the age of 22 he also has the ability expected of a stereotypical 'United player' (I do feel our fanbase has become too expectant with our signings though and forget where some of the greatest players started from). As he grows more into the team and league and also as a player he will score even more. Arguably already they best finisher in the league and hopefully soon, the world.

Simply sensational and only going to get better, I still think we should of signed Torres for 50 million though or Dzeko or even Carroll. lol.
