Barcelona Blast from Sir Alex

Barcelona Blast from Sir Alex

It was only ever going to be a matter of time wasn`t it?

With the title all but won, our attention will soon be switching to the Champions League Final, at Wembley on May 28th.

It`s the final that many suspect UEFA wanted and a final that many suspect that Barcelona will win.

There`s no doubt that the Catalan side has a plethora of talent but to suspect we`re turning up just to collect a set of runners-up medals has seen Sir Alex Ferguson give those hacks behind such a suggestion a blast when he remarked,

"We have players who can cause any team a lot of bother."

"Hopefully those attacking players will give Barcelona the problems that everyone thinks they are going to give us."

"Everyone has acknowledged how great a team Barcelona are but Manchester United are in this final."

"Everyone has said this is not a good Manchester United team, that we are not this or that. But we have scored more goals than anyone else. Our home form has been magnificent. We are undefeated in Europe."

"We are in the Champions League Final and we will win the league by getting one more point."

"I have to be realistic when I look at my team and ask am I satisfied?"

"Those players have given me everything."

The first of many blasts aimed to dissipate the pressure away from his players we`d imagine as Ferguson heads towards another European triumph!

Not so much a blast at Barcelona but moreso a blast at anyone who denies or underrates the ability of his squad in general. Guardiola has been nothing but respectful and has described our squad as 'extraordinary', we may not have the technical ability that Barcelona have, very few teams do, but at the same time I don't think Barcelona have the discipline, attitude and industry our squad has, very few teams do.

I don't think Barcelona have the discipline, attitude and industry our squad has, very few teams do. Excellent point. For all the flair players and technique in the game its the players with the right mental attitude and work rate who are left standing when others fall down. We can do Barca, my moneys on a two one win for us. I am a lot more confident now then I was the last time we met in the final, do not rule out the wembley factor.
