Ferguson Basks in the Glory

Ferguson Basks in the Glory

With that 19th title all but in the bag, Sir Alex Ferguson was in a reflective mood when he spoke after the 2-1 victory over Chelsea yesterday.

It`s fair to say that Sir Alex positively basked in the achievement he`d masterminded during his time with United when he commented,

"It`s fantastic to be the most successful team ever in the country. The minute we won that first title in my time here in 1992, the door opened - and we`ve been involved in the first two practically throughout that period, Its a fantastic achievement."

"For the last 17 or 18 years it has been Arsenal and Chelsea as our nearest challengers and the last few years it has been Chelsea. Arsenal made a great attempt this year but them losing today and this win for us has finalized it."

"We deserve the title and, hopefully, we`ll get that point at Blackburn in our next game on Saturday."

"But we`ll give them 100 per cent respect because they are a good side battling for Premier League survival."

The good days are back, here`s hoping we can get that point and then all eyes will be trained on Wembley and the small matter of defeating Barcelona!

Hopefully we will all be basking in a Champions League triumph. What a travesty it will be for Gods gift Barca to be beat by an average United. Fergies got a few years left in him yet, hopefully a few more trophies to go with those years. UNITED!!
