Giggs - Never Again!

Nobody knows for just how long Ryan Giggs will continue playing.

The veteran continues to defy his age and produce performances that rank up there with any he`s previously produced.

But, as Giggs heads towards another Champions League Final, he`s in no doubt as to what he thinks about the last time we encountered Barcelona in a similar final, recalling,

"The worst I`ve ever felt was my first full season when we lost the league to Leeds but the European Cup Final in Rome was a close second."

"That feeling of emptiness. We just didn`t perform - that was the worst thing."

"At United, you always pride yourself that when you lose a goal you react."

"But we didn`t that night. I`ve never watched the game back. The manager has probably watched it six or seven times but I`ve not."

"You`re on the coach outside the stadium and you know you haven`t played well personally and you haven`t played well as a team."

"It`s the last game of the season and you`ll never get it back and you`re just gutted."

And as for winning it again, at the very place we first won it in 1968, Giggs had this to add,

"We know it`s a tremendous stadium and steeped in history. United won the European Cup there and hopefully we can do it again."

"We`ve played in some great finals at Wembley, so to do it again in the Champions League, it doesn`t get any better than that."

It probably doesn`t, if you can get a bl**dy ticket!

The 2009 CL final was a woeful performance, moreso Ronaldo advertising himself to Madrid, which failed badly. Then again, thinking back, I still can't help but feel****ed off about Pique's foul on Ronaldo when he beat him and was bearing down on goal whilst it was 0-0 early on.
