United - Stick With De Gea?

Strange how things can change so quickly!

In the space of eight days the clamour to switch from signing Manuel Neuer instead of David De Gea has gone full circle.

This time last week, after Neuer`s super-show in Gelsenkitrchen, it was seen as a near certainty that United should challenge Bayern Munich for his signature.

But after his rocky display, at Old Trafford, last night, suddenly he seems fallible!

Despite the boss reckoning the Gelsenkirchen display was the best he`d seen from a goalkeeper against us, it looks like the backroom staff have done their homework on this subject.

I admit he didnt look to good on Gibson's goal, nor on the first of Ando's. However is still without doubt one of the best goallies around, and he is only 24. But it is senseless to even discuss him, he has clearly stated he wants to stay in Germany and does not want to join United. I for one, think that de Gea is the best option.

It could be anyone but I will leave this for SAF to decide,I do agree with nordkap that Neuer would be the best option but he wants to be in germany,so it could be anyone from Steklenburg,De gea,or any other,I would prefer to have Steklenburg for his experience but thats just me.

Whoever they decide to get to replace Van Der Sar i'm sure will be a well scouted, suited replacement, not another Barthez or Carrol. Neuer is still a marvellous keeper and I would still love him at Old Trafford, his defense left him exposed on numerous occassions and whilst he didn't perform the heroics like last time, for me, the quality is still there. That said I couldn't agree with you guys anymore, his sights look set on Bayern and he's being stubborn about it so lets not worry and badger him about it and let him go ahead, choose Bayern, and waste his career.

Bring back Taibi!!! Seriously though its a nice predicament to have, De Gea, Neuer, Steklenburg, or Gomez from spurs lol
