'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Rival Interest?

It seems almost a done deal, according to several sources, that the Everton youngster, Jack Rodwell, will be joining Manchester United this summer.

Indeed some have, previously, suggested that a deal has already been brokered.

We`re not so sure though!

The youngster although he scored a decent enough goal against us, has been plagued by injuries and a 20 million investment seems to be a hell of a risk.

Therefore, the reported interest in the same player, with a view, according to the media, of hijacking this reputed deal, from Arsenal I find interesting.

If Arsene Wenger is interested in Rodwell and Sir Alex`s interest is also genuine, I reckon we should be very careful of getting drawn into a bidding war, there are other alternatives out there!

Arsenal won't spend that money so they're of no concern. Personally I think anything over 12 mil for Rodwell is too much and a mjority of that is based on potential rather than current ability (not because he's bad but because it's hard to get a reading of his ability due to him being out injured constantly). The last thing we need is another Hargreaves/Solskjaer case.
