United - Don`t Buck the Trend

Following on from our 2-0 win in the Veltins Stadium last night, the omens, with regards to progressing to the final, look exceedingly good.

Apparently the record books show that a side that has won the away leg of the first of the two semi-final fixtures has, over the last 15 years progressed to the final.

The last team to progress after winning the first leg away from home were the Greek side Panathinaikos who despite beating Ajax on foreign soil still crashed out of the competition back in 1996.

Come on United, no bucking that trend!

As long as we're cautious and wary that it's not over until that final whistle and the threat Schalke can possess we should be fine.
